Flushing Walkabout

My in-laws residence is about 2.5 miles from the USTA center in Flushing. I tried to get to the US Open’s round of 16. By the time I got there, no tickets were available. I watched a few junior matches that were happening around the grounds. That was fun. I was exhausted just watching them. The temperature was in the high 80s to low 90s. High humidity. You can see in the gallery what it did to a player. Medical crews were brought in and they iced him. He tried to complete the match after, but soon he had to forfeit.

I walked around for another 10 miles in and around Flushing. I thoroughly enjoyed walking though different neighborhoods, each with its own atmosphere. I spent some time capturing the action at the skate park.
