Kennedy Space Center

My highlight of the Florida vacation was the visit to the Kennedy Space Center. It just stokes the imagination of what we can do if we are driven towards a goal. The place is over 50 years old and still operational in every aspect. The Shuttle launch pads are being dismantled, but the Vehicle Assembly Building is being modernized. It is being retrofitted to handle the private space enterprises in addition to the exiting NASA efforts.

The Vehicle Assembly Building was the largest building by volume when it was built. At 130 Million cubic feet, it now stands as the 6th largest. The roof can fit NY Yankee stadium footprint with room to spare! An impressive building.
