Zabriskie Point

Zabriskie Point was fairly close to Furnace Creek Ranch which is where we were staying. I went there at different times of the day to capture the landscape. The sunrise light was dramatic and brought out the convolutions, texture and color contrasts.

This landscape predates the Death Valley. The formation is primarily from sediments from the nearby mountains and ashfalls from the Black Mountain volcanic Field.
