I spent a Sunday afternoon at the British Museum during my recent UK trip.  It turned out to be a great choice.  The collection is very impressive.  A lot of Asian, Egyptian, Middle East and European artifacts.  I was keen on seeing the Rosetta Stone.  While I was looking for it,  I came across a very interesting display.  I was surprised and very excited seeing the mummy of Cleopatra.

I definitely appreciated the curators’ efforts to spread the artifacts out and in a chronological order.  This is a better way to arrange a museum.  Especially when compared to The MET.  Don’t get me wrong.  The MET is wonderful.  But as a tourist, with only an afternoon available, you come away from the British Museum with a feeling that you actually covered the whole thing.  The MET just overwhelms you.
